Hydraulic Winches / Hoists
Industrial winches, in general, are pulling or lifting devices that use a wire, rope, cable, strap or web to move heavy loads. A drum or reel is used for line storage and are operated either manually or powered by an electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic motor.
Hydraulic winches, apart from the standard range at Silwin, are custom made products, which employ pressurized hydraulic fluid and transfer rotational kinetic energy. Many constructions are possible, and there are many norms and selection criteria for choosing a winch.
Applications: Winches of different makes find their application in various construction, industrial, automotive, railroad, recovery, mining, oilfields, marine and other industries for their pulling and lifting equipments like:
- Cranes
- Trolleys
- Trucks and trailers
- Trailer cranes, etc
Some decisive factors in the selection of your particular winch:
Line pull: The line pull is usually given in the first layer, however it decreases for each higher cable layer.
Cable guide: For normal cable construction the maximum advisable fleet angle is 4; with turn-free cable this is a maximum of 2.5. For larger fleet angles a cable spooling device may be necessary. The grooving of drum and a constant load, both help a cable spool correctly on the winch drum. For pulling winches, in case the cable becomes completely slack, a pressure roll is advisable, so that the cable stays neatly spooled on the drum.
Speed: The required speed depends on the purpose of the winch. Sometimes it may be useful to equip it with a variable speed, which in hydraulic winches is achieved using a variable hydraulic displacement motor, a proportional control valve or a double displacement motor.
Direction of winch: While placing an order for hydraulic winch it is essential to specify the direction of the winch to ensure correct assembly. A winch is defined as being "Right Hand" if, when the load is lifted the drum rotates in clockwise direction, viewed from the motor end. Conversely when the load is lifted by anticlockwise rotation of the drum, it is termed "Left Hand".
Silwin’s Hydraulic Winches are built
with:
- Radial Piston Motors,
-
Multiple Disc Brakes,
-
Brakes and
-
Planetary Gearboxes.
The combination spells greater efficiency for pulling or lifting tasks and faster line speeds than any other types of motor and gear trains. This extra performance translates into greater productivity, better performance and lower maintenance.
Silwin winches are optimally functional even in adverse conditions and are better known for their:
-
Compact & rigid construction
-
Planetary gear train & radial piston motor for higher efficiency
-
Functional design
-
Ease of maintenance – low maintenance costs
Supply Ability:
1. Standard winches : Within two week
2. Special winches : Within 6-8 weeks from the date of receipt of purchase order at our end.
